PGH

COVID Stories PGH is a research and story-gathering project of the Metro-Urban Institute at Pittsburgh Theological Seminary.  With the generous support of the Henry Luce Foundation, we are studying and documenting the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic on the African American and Latinx communities of Pittsburgh, and providing support to nonprofits that serve them.

COVID is revealing the realities of everyday life across our city neighborhoods, and the challenges and inequities many residents  face.  Learn about the context for COVID in Pittsburgh and our response.

In the midst of the pandemic, there are stories being lived out that reveal both the complex needs and resilience of our city neighborhoods.  Here's what we've learned from our grantees so far.

Our research partners have deep roots in nonprofit and faith-based work in Pittsburgh's African American and Latinx communities.  Learn more about them and our research timeline.

Stories need storytellers.  Do you have an story of COVID's impact on Pittsburgh's African American and Latinx communities that you would like to share?  Here's how to get in touch.
